A+ Scholarship Program
Goals of the A+ Program

All students will graduate from high school
-
All students will complete high school studies that are challenging and have identified learning expectations;
-
All students will proceed from high school graduation to college, post-secondary vocational/technical school, or a high-wage job with opportunities for workplace skill development/advancement opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the financial incentives of the A+ School Program, a student must be certified as an A+ student by their high school. To qualify, the student must meet the following criteria:

Graduate from an A+ designated high school.

Enter into a written agreement with their high school prior to graduation and have attended the school for at least two consecutive years prior to graduation.

Graduate from high school with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale (non-weighted).

Have at least a 95% attendance record for the four-year period.

Perform 50 hours of unpaid A+ approved mentoring and/or tutoring. Students may earn up to 12.5 hours via pre-approved job shadowing experiences.

Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the unlawful use of drugs/alcohol.

Students may not accumulate more than 10 days of ISS/OSS combined, for any reason.

Make a good faith effort to first secure all available federal post-secondary student financial assistance funds (File FAFSA) that do not require repayment.

Male students who are 18 prior to graduation must register with the Selective Service.

Students must score proficient or advanced on the Algebra I End of Course Exam (EOC) or qualify using the ACT Math Score Conversion Chart below.

Steps to A+ Completion

Complete the A+ Enrollment and Agreement Form

Complete the one-time A+ Tutoring Training and score 80% or higher on the Tutor Training Quiz.

Check the student announcements and school email for opportunities to sign up for A+ Tutoring Activities at elementary school events.

Complete 50 hours of mentoring and/or tutoring.
-
Maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA.
-
Maintain 95% or higher cumulative attendance.
-
Accrue fewer than 10 days of ISS/OSS combined.
-
Score proficient or advanced on the Algebra 1 EOC or substitute. (See ACT Math Score Conversion Chart)

Return all paperwork to the A+ Office.

Senior Year
-
Complete the FAFSA by the Federal deadline.
-
Register for the Selective Service, if applicable.
-
Meet all eligibility requirements by graduation.
